getting here and getting around
Traveling to Western Montana and getting to Glacier National Park, are both easier than you might think. With two international airports—Missoula (MSO) and Glacier Park (FCA)—train service (Amtrak's Empire Builder), car rentals, buses and a well-maintained highway system, it’s pretty simple.
Whether you're arriving by plane, train or automobile, getting here is easy as pie—huckleberry pie—and it's also easy to map your journey throughout the region once you’ve arrived. Interstate 90 runs east and west anchoring our region, and Highway 93 runs north and south. But the trick is, you’ve got to get off the beaten path and take a two-lane highway or a backcountry gravel road. Slow down and listen to the quiet the wilderness affords. Pay a visit to our charming communities, many of which have ride sharing services, cab services, shuttles and charters to keep your journey moving forward. Watch our wildlife. Pull over by a river and dip your feet in or cast a line. The key to getting around Montana is opening yourself up to discovery.
