Festivals, Concerts and Events

Nature usually plays first chair here, but Montana is home to and draws some of the West’s finest musicians, inspired by the rugged Rocky Mountains, the sparkling night sky and the beauty around every bend. We also host some of the best music festivals west of the Continental Divide.

Check out our event calendar for information about music events happening throughout Montana's Glacier Country.

River City Roots Festival

Missoula’s signature event, River City Roots is a two-day festival featuring a juried art show, family activities, a 4-mile walk/run and a free all-day music stage with local artists and headliners. This wildly popular street festival was founded in 2005 and is most appropriately described as a “celebration of all things Missoula.”

Festival Amadeus

Montana’s only week-long classical music event, Festival Amadeus brings world-class musicians to the mountain community of Whitefish. The festival features seven evening concerts, including an “open-air” performance in Depot Park and an evening with the artists.
