Description:

The Confluence Center (Western Montana's Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! We’re excited to ring in the New Year with a special preview photography exhibit from Youpa Stein, as well as offering a second glance at our winter group show “Solstice”.

In August 2023 artist Youpa Stein, kayaked in the Tracy Arm Fords Terror Wilderness with three USFS Rangers for a week as part of a Voices in the Wilderness Residency Program. Youpa has crafted an intimate look into her experiences through her exhibit/presentation, In the Arms of Glaciers: Voices of Water, Stone, and Ice. Come by and get a first look at the artwork created through her residency, and take note to come back January 9th at 6:30pm for her full presentation!

Then, with Solstice, a group exhibit featuring over 100 artworks by local and regional artists, enjoy a wide range of artistic styles by over thirty regional artists. Featuring work by: Brett Allen, Bobbe Almer, Jennifer Baylis, Amanda Bielby, Courtney Blazon, Marlo Crocifisso, Michael Dinning, Alyssa English, Abigail Gergasko, Monica Gilles-BringsYellow, Mickey Haldi, Kage Harp, Dot Harris, Elisha Harteis, Cassandra Maguire, Madelaine Millar, Lillian Nelson, Lady Pajama, Laura Palmer, Sean Parson, Nancy Rishoff, Katrina Ruhmland, Karen Rice, David Sampson, Sheryl Silberman, Shahar Solander, Dusty Shriver, Jessie Smith, Youpa Stein, Tanya Yarrow, & Randy Zielinski
Event will take place January 5th, 5-8pm at the Confluence Center at 119 W Main St, Missoula, MT. In the Arms of Glaciers presentation takes place Tuesday, January 9th at 6:30pm. Solstice will remain on display through January 26th and can be seen by appointment through the center: 406-926-6526
